a survey

What I really want to know

I don't have a gold membership, and can't do a survey, but this is a rough version of what I would do for a survey if I could.

1. Here are some of values of a religion: "wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit," "kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates," "Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them," "Do not take that which does not belong to you." "Do not harm little children," "Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food. " And it has these sins - stupidity, self-deceit, herd conformity, counterproductive pride, lack of perspective, and lack of aesthetics. What do you think of this religion?

2. How much TV do you watch? Too much, too little?

3. What subcultures do you admire and/or belong to?

4. What do you think of labels and people getting labeled? Or do you think labels are unescaple fact of life?

5. Are we all in this together or are you really alone?

6. If the future depends on the past and everything has a cause that is not an entirely random event, then the future can't be changed. Do you believe in cause and effect, or random events?

7. Are you really in control of your destiny?

8. Does God exist?

9. If I told you that I used "God" as a catch all phrase for love, truth, and goodness, would you still tell me my God doesn't exist, would you tell me I worship the wrong God, or what?

10. In today's world, do you think there's any point in waiting until marriage to have sex?

11. Do you know what you want to be when you grow up? How can you figure it out?

12. Do you think it's possible to love everybody unconditionally? Should you even bother?

13. Do you do things just because they're right without giving consideration to any possible reward?

14. Why do people have to be motivated by rewards?

15. Could it be because they're trained that way in school?

16. Do you like yourself?

17. Are people all truly similar or is their similarity superficial to conceal their differences?

18. Are you unique just like everyone else?

19. Are these questions too deep?

20. Have you read my diary? If so, do you have any advice for me or general opinions/labels for me? Should I quit school or hang in there?

21. Is there anything wrong with choosing not to have any friends?

22. How much do you question things? Too much, not enough? Is questioning everything dangerous? Is it worth it anyway?

23. What's a poser? Is there anything really wrong with them, or can people just not accept that imitation is the highest form of compliment?

24. Do you think school is necessary? If people were willing to show other people what they know, would it be necessary? Tell me why too.

25. Why do people want to be better than others?

26. Do you think it's better for a child to have a parent that stays home enough so they don't have to go to daycare? What does this mean for two income families?

27. Do you admire people of the sex you're not attracted to for their sexiness? (This question obviously does not apply to bisexuals.)

28. What are you waiting for, if anything?

29. The religion in question 1 is Satanism. If you didn't already know, does it change either your opinion of Satanism or your answer of Q1?

30. What are your religious beliefs? What guiding rule(s) do you live by?

If anybody feels like answering these questions in their diary, please drop me a note. Maybe sometime I'll answer them too.
